NHS Sustainability Day is pleased to announce a date for the annual awards. The awards, which celebrate the efforts of healthcare organisations and their work on sustainability, will be held at 15 Hatfields, London on April 10th 2014.
In keeping with the theme of the campaign we are proud to host the awards at 15 Hatfields which is part of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. The CIEH and Public Health England have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding . PHE and CIEH have committed to work together to ensure that the environmental health profession and its professional body, CIEH, are able to contribute fully and freely to the work of PHE.
The CIEH and therefore 15 Hatfields have been assessed and registered by NQA for ISO 14001 setting the criteria for an environmental management system.Retro fitted in 2008 15 Hatfields was designed to meet high environmental building specification as well as providing a contemporary, clean, light, modern and flexible space.
Not only will the awards take place in one of the countries most sustainable venues, catering on the night will also be provided by Eden Caterers. Eden have been on the sustainable journey with 15 Hatfields and are award winning themselves for local, seasonal, organic, fair-trade, sustainable menus.
At 15Hatfields sustainability is at the heart of everything they do, from the carpets you walk on to the coffee that you will drink, they have thought of everything. NHS Sustainability Day is aware of the full meaning of sustainability, the fact that it refers to human wellbeing as well as the environment. Therefore, the venue have ensured that anything they could not obtain locally, such as teas and coffees, is all fair-trade ensuring a fair deal for the farmers and the growers.
