Carillion’s Annual Sustainability Report has won the FTSE 250 Sustainability Reporting category in this year’s PwC Building Public Trust Awards.
Now in its 11th year, the Building Public Trust Awards recognise four organisations for their excellence in corporate reporting – one from each of the following sectors: FTSE 100, FTSE 250, public sector and overseas.
The Awards assess the depth and relevance of sustainability reporting offered throughout the publicly available information provided to stakeholders.
David Picton, Chief Sustainability Officer at Carillion, commented: “It’s great news that our 2012 Sustainability Report has won this prestigious award, recognising the hard work and commitment from all of Carillion’s teams to be a trusted leading sustainable business.
“The Award emphasised the six clear, positive outcomes that form the basis of our 2020 Sustainability Strategy, permeating Carillion’s operations and highlighting those issues most fundamental to our business and to our customers.
In particular, we were pleased to note that our report was seen as focusing clearly on future viability, balanced reporting and target transparency, together with ‘Sustainability Talk and News’ – our online platform for sustainability knowledge sharing – being seen as an innovative way of connecting with our stakeholders.”
